STATEMENT |
Bilbo is a kind-hearted hobbit.
|
EXAMPLE |
This is shown when he helps the Chief Elf Guard by returning the keys to his belt.
|
EXPLANATION
This is kind-hearted because Bilbo saves the Chief Guard from getting into trouble. He will not be blamed for the dwarves' escape from the dungeons of the Elven King. If he had not returned the keys, then maybe the guard would be in trouble for not doing his job correctly. Bilbo was kind because he went out of his way to help the Guard when his own priority was to escape the dungeon.
DEVELOPMENT
When people are kind-hearted, they think deeply about other people and take their thoughts, feelings and their situation into consideration. This sometimes means that they have to go the extra mile to help others. Mauriora Kingi from New Zealand always demonstrated kindness in his life by cooking for others even though they turned up at his house before he was awake, he would cook for them. Usually kind-hearted people put the needs of others before themselves.
